About The Story Nook

  1. What makes The Story Nook books different? Our books combine heartfelt, original stories with your own treasured family photographs transformed into beautiful storybook illustrations. 
  2. Who are the Story Nook books for? The stories are written to resonate with both the child and the grown-up reading alongside them, creating a keepsake that can be enjoyed and treasured by both. 
  3. Can I create a book for more than one child? Absolutely. Our books can be created to celebrate more than one child, siblings or multiple grandchildren. You choose the photographs that capture the special relationships between your loved ones and the children in their life.
  4. Is the story personalised? The story itself is lovingly written and remains the same for each book. What makes your copy unique is the people and memories you add to it. Your own photographs are transformed into the illustrations for the story! You can also add a personal message or dedication. 

Personalising Your Book

  1. How do I personalise my book? Simply choose your book and cover type, then follow the instructions on the product page to upload your photographs and enter your dedication. We’ll take care of bringing everything together from there.
  2. How many photos do I need? We recommend anywhere from 15-32 photos. If you have less, we will just reuse the same photos throughout the book, if you upload more, we will be able to choose the ones that suit best! Don't worry about them being professional- some of the most meaningful moments on your phone are enough.
  3. What kind of photos do I upload? Choose clear photos. A mixture of close-ups and wider family photographs work beautifully. The book is portrait orientation- so portrait photos will work best! The text also sits at the bottom quater of the page- so photos that aren't too busy in this section work better. 
  4. Can I use photos taken on my phone?Yes! Most modern phone photographs are perfectly suitable. Where possible, upload the original image rather than a screenshot or compressed copy so we have the best-quality file to work with.
  5. Can I choose what my child calls their grandparent? Our grandparent collections offer several alternative names for "Grandpa" and Grandma." If you would like a book written for a name we don't currently offer, feel free to contact us and we will let you know if we can accomodate your request.  

     

Your Photos & Privacy

  1. What happens to my photos? Your photographs are used solely to create your personalised book. We don't use your photos for any other purpose and will not retain your uploaded photos once they are no longer required to fulfil your order.
  2. Will you use my photos on social media or for advertising?
    Not without your permission. We will never use your personal family photographs for promotional or marketing purposes without receiving your consent first. 
  3. Are my photos shared with anyone else?
    Your photographs are only used as necessary to create and fulfil your personalised order, including with the services required to produce your book.
  4. Can I include other family members in the photographs? Of course. Family photographs can make your book even more meaningful. Just make sure you have permission to provide and use any photographs you upload.
  5. What happens if one of my photos isn’t suitable?
    We choose from the photos you upload to find the best-fitting options. We may reuse the same images, and omit certain photos that don't suit. 
  6. Can I add a personal dedication?
    Yes! You’ll have the opportunity to add your own dedication when personalising your book. Please double-check spelling, names and wording before submitting your order.

About The Books

  1. What size are your books? Both our paperback and hardcover books are 7X10 inches, portrait orientation.
  2. How many pages are in each book?
    Our personalised storybooks are approximately 32 pages, although this may vary slightly depending on the title.
  3. What’s the difference between paperback and hardcover?
    Both versions contain the same beautiful personalised story and photographs. Paperback is our more affordable option and currently has a shorter estimated production and delivery timeframe. Hardcover has a more premium, keepsake feel and is a beautiful choice when you’re looking for something particularly special to treasure or give as a gift.
  4. Which format would you recommend as a gift? While both versions contain the same personalised story, we especially love the hardcover as a keepsake gift. Its sturdy, premium finish makes the finished book feel particularly special.
  5. Where are the books printed?Once your personalised book has been carefully created by The Story Nook, it is sent to our professional printing partner for printing, binding and delivery.
  6. Can I make changes after placing my order? You will be contacted once your book has been constructed and sent off for printing. If the book has already been sent for publishing, you will be unable to make changes. However, if it is still in construction stage, contact us ASAP and we will do our best to accomodate your desired changes.
